I was born in Muiden (Netherlands) in 1964 and have always been involved in art and creative projects. In 1992 we moved to Denmark and started a milk production. I am married and have 4 children.
In 2009-10 I have studied at BGI in Sønderborg, and for the last 5 years I had training and courses from Else Plow Isaksen at the Academy of Fine Arts in Aarhus.
Contrasting our hectic lives and all the influences from social media, in my art, I work, among other things, with some techniques from the Middle Ages.
I call it SLOWART.
This slow process, from mixing pigments to paint, to preparing my canvas and panel, helps me unwind and ensures that I can immerse myself in my art and zoom in on my motifs. With this I create an image that has something recognizable but at the same time, unrecognizable. I also often have unfinished transitions and edges in my work. In this way, I invite the audience into my image to unfold the mind and explore the different layers.
